Community Guidelines

Introduction

Our Async platform was built on the principle that everyone has a unique voice worth sharing, and with the right AI-powered tools and supportive community, we can all express our creativity in a safe and inclusive environment. These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") establish how you may use our platform, products, services, and software (collectively, our "Services"). These Guidelines reflect our dedication to fostering a secure environment and are designed to maintain an inclusive and welcoming space for all users.

As part of this commitment, we prohibit specific types of content and behavior on our Services, and may take appropriate action in response to content or activity that violates these Guidelines, including limiting or terminating accounts. In certain situations, we may also report violations  to relevant authorities or law enforcement. Determining whether content violates these Guidelines requires careful consideration, and we reserve the right to make decisions we believe are appropriate for the Async community, at our sole discretion.

These Guidelines govern all activities you engage in, content you create, or materials you share on our Services. You cannot use our Services if you violate these Guidelines, and you cannot encourage or assist others in doing so. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age required to provide consent for processing of personal data in your jurisdiction) to use our Services. When we discover underage users, we remove their accounts from our platform. We periodically update these Guidelines based on applicable law, community behavior, emerging issues, and user feedback.

Responsible AI Use

Our platform operates various artificial intelligence (AI) engined tools and features. Users must adhere to utilizing any AI-enabled features, tools, or outputs delivered through the Services in a legal, ethical, and responsible fashion. AI functionality must be used in accordance with Async's intended objectives and must not breach applicable laws, violate third-party rights, or be used to generate, advance, or disseminate harmful, misleading, unlawful or discriminatory material. 

All users must adhere to our Community Guidelines when using AI-related functionalities. Async retains the authority to monitor, limit, or terminate access to any user account that improperly uses AI capabilities or breaches our Terms of Service and these Community Guidelines.

Adult Content

Our Services are not designed or intended for explicit sexual content, pornography, or accounts focused on sexual activities. You may not use our Services in connection with sexually explicit, pornographic, or nude content or activities (including illustrated or AI-generated content), including:
  • Content or activities that include, depict, or otherwise describe nudity or sexual organs, sexual conduct or arousal, sexual fetishes, sexual exploitation, sexually suggestive language, or sexual objectification;
  • Creating, distributing, or promoting sexually explicit, pornographic, or nude content; and
  • Following or engaging with others to make sexual comments or sexually harass.

Child Protection

We maintain zero tolerance for any content or activity that endangers the safety or welfare of minors. You may not use our Services (including illustrated or AI-generated content) in connection with the sexual exploitation or endangerment of children, including:
  • Sexual content or activities involving children;
  • Content or activities that promote, depict, or describe child abuse, neglect, or pedophilia;
  • Engaging in predatory behavior, including developing an emotional relationship with a minor for purposes of sexual abuse, exploitation, or trafficking; and
  • Sexualizing or inappropriately focusing on children or sharing links to external sites involving sexual exploitation, sexualization, or abuse of minors.

Bullying and Harassment

We believe emotional safety and well-being are essential for learning and creative expression. You may not use our Services in connection with harassing, bullying, degrading, shaming, insulting, or antagonizing others. This includes creating, posting, or sharing any content or activity that:
  • Degrades, shames, or ridicules;
  • Promotes, encourages, threatens, or incites violence or coordinated harassment;
  • Wishes death, illness, physical harm, or any other type of harm to a person;
  • Glorifies violent tragedies or disparages victims, includes others' private information without their consent, or attempts to blackmail, doxx, or "out" others; or
  • Intentionally misuses our Services' reporting mechanisms to harass others. If another user blocks your Async account, you agree that you will not contact or interact with that user through another Async account.

Hate Speech and Discrimination

We value diversity and want Async to be an inclusive and respectful environment. You may not use our Services in connection with hate speech or content or activity that demeans, defames, or promotes discrimination, bigotry, harm, exploitation, or violence based on race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin or immigration status, religious affiliation, caste, veteran status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, illness or disability (physical or mental), socio-economic status, weight, or pregnancy status. This includes content or activity:
  • Depicting logos, symbols, flags, slurs, uniforms, salutes, gestures, caricatures, illustrations, or individuals related to hateful ideologies;
  • Condoning, glorifying, or trivializing violent events that have occurred or may occur involving any of the attributes listed above;
  • Denying or spreading false information about well-documented historical events or portraying such events as hoaxes or conspiracies;
  • Dehumanizing, degrading, or promoting exclusions or segregation of individuals or groups based on the attributes listed above; or
  • Spreading or reinforcing harmful or negative stereotypes.
We may permit certain content for historical, documentary, or educational purposes. Any decision to permit such content is made at our sole discretion.

Graphic Violence

Async is not a platform for excessive violence, so you may not use our Services in connection with violent or graphic content (including illustrated or AI-generated content, and content depicting animals). This includes content or activity:
  • Depicting or describing disturbing footage of war, accidents, and similar content;
  • Depicting, describing, or promoting beheadings, suicide, terrorism, murder, or executions;
  • Depicting or describing wounds where the injury is the primary focus;
  • Depicting, describing, or promoting the torture, skinning, slaughter, mutilation, cruelty towards, or harm of animals or humans;
  • Depicting or describing weapons with violent intent, including weapons pointed at others, weapons with blood or gore, or weapons widely associated with mass violence or dangerous events;
  • Providing instructions on how to obtain, make, use, or sell weapons; or
  • Glorifying, supporting, commending, or idolizing perpetrators of violence or violent events.
We may permit certain content for historical, documentary, or educational purposes. Any decision to permit such content is made at our sole discretion.

Dangerous Groups and Individuals

You may not use our Services in connection with or to promote gangs, terrorist organizations, cult communities, organized crime, and violent or extremist groups, and we remove content and terminate accounts affiliated with these groups. This includes content or activity:
  • Depicting or describing hand signals or text representing gang affiliation;
  • Depicting or describing names, flags, slogans, monikers, logos, and other identifiers associated with such groups; or
  • That glorifies or praises leaders or members associated with these groups.

Criminal Activity and Controlled Substances

You may not use our Services in a way that violates applicable law, or in connection with, depicting, or promoting criminal activity. We reserve the right to report any such violations to law enforcement and to remove content and terminate accounts that engage in or promote any form of criminal activity, including:
  • Using our platform to generate content to assist buying, selling, or trading illegal goods or controlled substances, including drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, pharmaceuticals, weapons, toxic substances, and counterfeit goods;
  • Providing instructions on or otherwise promoting criminal activity, such as swatting or fraudulent schemes;
  • Advertising illegal goods or services, such as the sale of weapons, drugs, escort services, or prostitution;
  • Depicting the use of drugs or other illegal or controlled substances or providing instructions on how to obtain, make, use, or sell such substances; or
  • Using our platform for human trafficking or any related activities.

Self-Harm and Dangerous Behavior

You may not use our Services to encourage, normalize, or glorify suicide, eating disorders, substance abuse, or other harmful acts. This includes content or activity that:
  • Glorifies, promotes, or normalizes self-inflicted injuries;
  • Provides instructions on how to commit self-harm;
  • Includes suicide or self-harm challenges, dares, or games;
  • Depicts body changes which promote eating or exercise habits that are related to or likely to cause self-harm; or
  • Glorifies, encourages, or promotes severe or dangerous weight loss methods.

Privacy Violations

We believe sharing or threatening to share private information is a form of abuse. You may not use our Services to violate the privacy rights of others, or to disclose or attempt to obtain the private information of others without their consent. Private information includes:
  • Contact information, such as an email address, physical address, telephone number, or photographs of a person's residence;
  • Sensitive personal information, such as a national identification number, passport number, driver's license, or username and password information; and
  • Financial information, such as credit card numbers or bank account information.

Authenticity and Misinformation

We want the user experience in the Async community to be trustworthy and authentic. You may not use our Services, including our AI-powered features, in connection with fraudulent activity, to mislead or deceive others, or to spread false information. This includes:
  • Creating an account impersonating a person or organization for the purpose of misleading others;
  • Generating, promoting, uploading, creating, sharing, editing, searching for, or posting (i) misinformation, (ii) synthetic or manipulated content like deepfakes that may confuse, mislead, or deceive others, (iii) propaganda, or (iv) any other misleading information meant to cause or incite harm, fear, panic, or disrupt civic processes;
  • Representing that the outputs of our AI-powered features are human-generated;
  • Posting content to redirect web traffic to destinations that are unsafe, deceptive, pornographic, or commercial in nature;
  • Artificially generating, manipulating, or facilitating false engagement, including fake reviews or activity to increase views, votes, likes, followers, shares, or comments; and
  • Engaging in spam behavior, including creating inauthentic accounts and accounts in bulk.

Intellectual Property Rights

We encourage everyone to create and share their work performed with the use of Async tools and features. However, you may not use our Services to violate intellectual property rights of others, including by uploading, creating, sharing, editing, searching for, or generating content that violates or infringes on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

Refer to the DMCA section of our Terms of Use to learn how to report copyright infringement if you believe someone has used your work without permission.

Enforcement

We may take action against content or accounts that violate these Guidelines, including:
  • Removing content that violates our Guidelines
  • Restricting account features or functionality
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Reporting violations to law enforcement when appropriate
We review reported content and make enforcement decisions based on these Guidelines, applicable law, and the safety of our community. Our decisions are made at our sole discretion, and we may consider context, intent, and other relevant factors when determining appropriate action.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, please report it to us by sending an email at [email protected]. We review all reports and take appropriate action based on our Guidelines and applicable law.

Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, applicable law, or community standards. We will notify users of material changes to these Guidelines through our Services or other appropriate means.
